#In the spotlights

As we have an extensive collection of fabrics, we like to draw your attention to fabrics that have been in our collection for some time but definitely deserve to be in the spotlights, we will show you why!

Babycord (A734 – 100% cotton)

Babycord is a type of corduroy fabric and owes its name to its delicateness. The width of cord is commonly referred to as the size of the “wale”. Which means number of cords per inch. The lower the "wale" number, the wider the width of the wale. Our A734 has 21 wales, which is pretty high, making it a babycord.

Babycord is a classic cool-weather fabric, a delicate, fine and durable corduroy suitable for shirts, blouses or garments for children. Cords have been given a makeover as they have become trendier over the last years. A734 comes in 9 colours, ranging from white, to icey blue, to kaki green. A colour for each occasion!

On another bright note, we will soon introduce a new babycord fabric as a print base for our digital print range. This babycord has 28 wales and is therefore lighter than our A734 fabric!

Jersey (A725 - 96% cotton / 4% stretch)

Single jersey is weft knitted fabric, which is formed by one set of needles. It is flexible and light, yet warm and insulating. In the past century, jersey has come a long way. In the early 20th century, jersey had an unfortunate reputation, until some major fashion brands took a liking to it and started using it because of the way it could be draped. This was a turning point and one that made jersey what it is today, a versatile and still popular fabric.

Our A725 fabric is a second knitwear quality in our standard range. After the first introduction of the piqué, item A571 (suitable for dress shirts, polo shirts etc.) we now added a single jersey knit fabric to our range. A perfect fabric for draped garments, such as dresses and women's tops, but also looks great as a casual shirt or T-shirt. Have a look at this fabric now!
