At Tootal Fabrics we offer an extensive range of fabrics. Every now and then we like to put a spotlight on fabrics that have been in our collection for a while. Embrace style and comfort with our pique knit and jersey fabrics!

Pique

One of our favourite weave types for shirts, a Pique knit! Pique knit is a fabric with raised fibers that give this fabric a ribbed like texture, giving the fabric more body. Our A571 is made out of 100% cotton and weighs ± 188 g/m². Pique knit is most famously known as ideal material for polo shirts but is remarkably versatile in use. This particular weave type ensures high wearing comfort, due to its breathable and absorbent qualities and can be used for casual and sophisticated looks. A shirt made from a pique knit fabric has a casual chique look, perfect for a day in the office or a day out! This easy-care, breathable fabric is versatile and suitable for every season. A571 comes in 7 colours, see them all here!

Jersey

Single jersey is weft knitted fabric, which is formed by one set of needles. It is flexible and light, yet warm and insulating. In the past century, jersey has come a long way. In the early 20th century, jersey had an unfortunate reputation, until some major fashion brands took a liking to it and started using it because of the way it could be draped. This was a turning point and one that made jersey what it is today, a versatile and still popular fabric.

Our A725 fabric is a second knitwear quality in our standard range. After the first introduction of the piqué, item A571 (suitable for dress shirts, polo shirts etc.) we now added a single jersey knit fabric to our range. A perfect fabric for draped garments, such as dresses and women's tops, but also looks great as a casual shirt or T-shirt. Have a look at this fabric here!
