Did you know that Amsterdam owes its name to its location near a dam ‘the Amstel’, which was built in the 13th century? It is also known as one of the largest trade centers of Europe. When you think of Amsterdam, you probably think of the colorful tulip field, windmills and historic canal houses.
This theme collection will show you a large variety of prints where most of the characteristics of Amsterdam are captured.
When you are in Amsterdam, make sure to take a bicycle ride and explore the surroundings. You will come across many, colorful tulip fields. The tulip is a typical Dutch flower, which is a declaration of love if you receive one.
Make sure to visit one of our 1.200 historical windmills, spread throughout the Netherlands. The most famous windmill location is ‘Kinderdijk’, where many windmills are located in a small area.
Experience the history of the Netherlands with a boat trip on the canals of Amsterdam and admire the historic canal houses. Enjoy the architecture which has been around for many centuries.
